A Letter on Our Future

From Founder & CEO, Chris Paquette

DeepIntent announced today a strategic investment from Vitruvian Partners, a global investment firm that specializes in backing high-growth, founder-led technology companies. With this news, I’d like to share what I believe this investment means for our clients, our partners and our team, as well as our collective mission to drive better patient outcomes through the use of data science and advertising.

Why this partnership matters

Several trends are actively shaping the future of healthcare, but there’s none more consequential than the way patients and providers are using technology to educate themselves and improve outcomes. New technology creates new channels of experience, which in turn creates new expectations on brands and marketers. We see a clear opportunity for healthcare marketers to evolve with these trends and enhance the ways they connect with their audiences across new, emerging, and often real-time channels.

Audiences now demand content that is not only accurate, but also personalized and available on-demand. Marketers must build deeper connections requiring richer data and insights to tell their stories in more personalized and impactful ways. Simply put, our tools must evolve to meet these expectations, and our belief is that there is no company better positioned – or with a clearer vision – than DeepIntent to lead healthcare marketing forward.

What this means for our clients

We have strong conviction that healthcare marketers deserve a demand side platform that is specialized and built to the needs of the healthcare marketer – and the trends I mention above reinforces this belief more than ever. I, along with my team, believe that our DSP should support and enable an ecosystem of our industry’s leading data and media partners. We also believe that we can greatly enhance and simplify the way our clients plan, activate and optimize the way they engage with patients and providers.

This new investment gives DeepIntent the resources to do exactly that. In the coming months and quarters, we plan to accelerate our product roadmap, build and expand our partnerships, and scale up our ability to better serve our clients and partners. In short, Vitruvian’s investment solidifies our position as the leading healthcare DSP in the market, and I look forward to leading our team into this next chapter.

What this means for our partners

This investment sends a clear and unambiguous signal that our market values independent platforms built in partnership with other industry leaders. We share with you our conviction that the industry’s next chapter will be defined by the partnerships we build to give our clients the precision and expertise needed to deliver deep personalization and measurable outcomes.

As evidenced by our several recent announcements and releases, we are rapidly expanding access to leading data and media partners. These partnerships, combined with our platform’s Health Intelligence™, equip our clients with the most advanced tools for reaching patients and providers with maximum impact and efficiency. This investment will accelerate our ability to make real our vision for a diverse ecosystem; a marketplace capable of fully unlocking the combined power of unique data and media assets with our own platform capabilities. We look forward to enhancing the way we partner with you in this mission.

But this news is bigger than DeepIntent

But this is more than just a funding milestone—it’s a vote of confidence in our industry’s raison d’etre. We are just one small part of an industry built by some of the most passionate, driven and intelligent people in the world. Our industry discovers and delivers scientific miracles every day. We view healthcare marketing as the “last mile” in a long chain of innovation; we connect the latest medical advances with the people who need them the most. At a time when scientific progress is seemingly being displaced by political discourse and misinformation, I hold a deep personal conviction that our work has never held more importance.

I believe that the advent of new technologies, including generative AI, has given us another tool that — when used responsibly to convey fact and truth — will generate an immense positive impact on the lives of patients. This technology will allow us to scale up our ability to personalize the way our clients story-tell, connecting patients and providers with health information that resonates in new, more relatable ways than ever before. It will greatly enhance the speed at which marketers discover new insights into the molecules they’re marketing and the markets that need them. DeepIntent, and our new partner Vitruvian, believe that we can unlock this potential together.

“The summit reveals what mountains remain to be climbed”

Some time ago I came across this quote and it has stuck with me since. As our team prepares to embark on another multi-year adventure, these words resonate with me more today than ever before. We see our next mountain and we know the path we will take to get there.

As the founder of this business, I can’t recall another moment where I’ve personally felt more energized and more emboldened to take on what lies ahead. And, most importantly, I share these feelings with our team — the people to whom I owe all of DeepIntent’s success. There is a clarity, focus, and appetite that feels noticeably different to me now; one that is grounded in the experience (and as in any entrepreneurial story, the bruises) we’ve earned over the past nine-plus years together. I could not have more trust, confidence, and conviction in this team to get us where we are heading.

So, to close, I’d like to welcome you to the new DeepIntent. With new investment (and great new branding, I might add), our company has never been more energized, more equipped and more ready to start building the future of healthcare marketing — and we can’t wait to do this with you.
